Welcome to Long Branch

The Long Branch neighbourhood offers the perfect opportunity for home-buyers looking for the Goldilocks effect – just close for easy access to downtown Toronto, but also just far enough for that small-town feel.

What We Love About Long Branch

Parks

The neighbourhood is fortunate enough to be home to not one but two enormous parks, Colonel Samuel Smith Park and Marie Curtis Park, both with long stretches of beach, children’s playgrounds and picnic facilities.

History

There are many grand mansions of historic significance in the area, such as Idlewild Cottage, built in 1886, which was the home of Colonel Samuel Smith, who lent his name to the park.

Restaurants and Shops

There are tons of restaurants along the Lake Shore Blvd strip, from burgers and sushi to upscale Italian. The biggest problem would be deciding where to eat!

The Homes

Due to its historic nature as a cottage community, there are still grand single-family homes with deep setbacks. Nevertheless, the area is seeing more condo development.

The Neighbourhood

The Long Branch neighbourhood is a narrow strip bordered by the railway tracks just North of Lakeshore to the North, Lake Ontario to the South and bookended by Colonel Samuel Smith Park and Marie Curtis Parks to the East and West.

The actual cobblestones and blue cast iron street lamps still in use give a real sense of the area’s colonial past. The area also gives off a seaside village vibe.

The Location

The area has its own GO Station, located near Lake Shore and Brow Dr at its far North West corner. This is as far west as the Queen 501 Streetcar will take you. And of course, the presence of the lake, providing beautiful vistas and cooling breezes in the summer, is a major value-add to the neighbourhood, giving your home a cottage-y feelling
