The Homes

The distinct Tudor style houses in the Old Mill neighbourhood were built in the early 1920s-1940s and are mostly detached 2-storey homes with lovely wood accents, hardwood floors and private driveways. Some have been extensively renovated and updated. Many of the hilly and winding streets (some with original cobble-stone) offer homes with unique lots, overlooking ravines, the Humber River or the Old Mill itself. As well, recent development of luxury condos in the neighbourhood offer lifestyle options for those who want access to the many surrounding green spaces, combined with luxury amenities. Take a tour of one of our listings in the neighbourhood, or read some of our recent blogs about the community.

The Neighbourhood

This West Toronto neighbourhood of Old Mill is located north and west of the intersection of Bloor and Jane streets. The area began life as a hunting and fishing region for Canada’s First Nations People, before European exploration of the area, and subsequent settlement. The King’s Mill – the predecessor to today’s Old Mill – was used to process lumber for Toronto’s first houses.  A series of fires forced the mill to be re-built 3 times.  Today’s Old Mill Inn & Spa has incorporated the remains of the last grist mill into the walls of its intimate boutique hotel, spa, and restaurant. Enjoyable 5-10 minute walks offer shopping at either the Bloor West Village or the Kingsway Village shopping districts; or hop on the subway and find yourself in Toronto’s downtown within 15 minutes.

At Old Mill Station subway you can make your way downtown in just 20 minutes. Travel by car to either downtown Toronto or the airport is easily accessed via the Gardiner Expressway, from the foot of South Kingsway.
