Friendly Vibe

From its communal townhall to its overall friendliness, few neighbourhoods have such a strong sense of community.

The Homes

Many of the homes in the neighbourhood are of the Arts & Crafts style, similar to those in Bloor West Village, but there is also a scattering of newer (post 1950) homes. In the south part of Swansea, close to the lake, you will also find many condos, in both new and older buildings. Take a tour of one of our listings in the neighbourhood, or read some of our recent blogs about the community.

The Neighbourhood

Swansea Village (which actually was a village) is the only Toronto neighbourhood that has its own community-run Town Hall, where you will find information about the area’s colourful history. Swansea is also the only Toronto neighbourhood with its natural boundaries defined by a lake, a river and a pond!

Swansea shares the Bloor West Village shopping district with the Bloor West Village neighbourhood, which is to the north of Bloor Street. To the east is High Park and Grenadier Pond, to the west is the exclusive Riverside Drive area, bordering the Humber River. Lake Ontario and the Martin Goodman Waterfront Trail define the Southern boundaries. In addition to High Park, the Swansea neighbourhood is also home to Rennie Park, which, in addition to a large playground, offers tennis courts, a community center and a hockey rink.

The Location

Hop on the subway at either of the two subway stops in Bloor West Village and make your way downtown in just 15-20 minutes. Travel by car to either downtown Toronto or the airport is easily accessed via the Gardiner Expressway, from the foot of South Kingsway.
